CWC Wins GEEF Global WaterTech Award 2024

The Central Water Commission (CWC) has been honored with the GEEF Global WaterTech Award in the category ‘Water Department of the Year’ at the Global Water Tech Summit – 2024, held by the Global Energy and Environment Foundation (GEEF) in New Delhi.

National Water Awards

Launched in 2007, the National Water Awards aim to encourage stakeholders, including NGOs, Gram Panchayats, Urban Local Bodies, Water User Associations, and others, to adopt innovative practices in:

  • Ground Water Augmentation
  • Rainwater Harvesting
  • Artificial Recharge
  • Water Use Efficiency
  • Recycling and Re-Use

These awards promote holistic approaches to water conservation and management, reflecting the integral relationship between surface and ground water.

Recent Developments

The National Water Awards 2018 and 2019 were successful in recognizing efforts in water conservation. The National Water Awards 2020 continue this tradition, organized by the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation, to further motivate stakeholders in water management.
