Uttarakhand to roll out drone in healthcare 2022

Drone Healthcare 2022

Drones being used commercially to deliver great healthcare to Indians in the most rural locations appears to be a possibility now. In the United States’ Redcliffe Labs, a division of Redcliffe Lifetech, has completed its first commercial drone flight in the healthcare sector. Between Uttarkashi and Dehradun, the business just launched a commercial drone corridor.

KEY POINTS:

  • The collaboration between Redcliffe and Skye Air resulted in 40 successful trials in North India over the last three months.
  • Redcliffe Lab transported a payload of 5 kilograms in air temp boxes from Gyansu, Uttarkashi, to Vivek Vihar, Dehradun, a distance of 60 kilometres by air.
  • From June 10, 2022, the business stated it will “operate two flights daily for both routine and specialised test sample collecting.”
  • By 2027, the diagnostic service provider hopes to have reached at least 500 million Indians. Jain stated that the corporation “plans to employ drone technology to gather Dx samples” as one of the several approaches to meet this goal.
  • Other organisations are increasing commercial drone delivery in remote areas in order to satisfy the country’s critical healthcare requirements.
  • Healthcare experts supplied vaccines, Covid-19 testing samples, and medical items to a population of approximately 3,00,000 individuals represented by eight district health facilities in the Vikarabad district of the southern state of Telangana, according to the World Economic Forum (WEF).
  • WEF’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution India worked with the Government of Telangana, Apollo Hospital’s Healthnet Global, and NITI Aayog for the 45-day trial. Because it comprises communities living in the deep forests of the Ananthagiri hills, the district was chosen.

Though initially sceptical, India’s commercial sectors have embraced drones to improve job efficiency and save operational costs. According to 6W research, the Indian UAV market is expected to develop at a CAGR of 18% in terms of revenue from 2017 to 23. Another report by BIS Research estimated that by 2021, the commercial drone sector would have surpassed the military market, with a total value of $900 million.
