A Legendary Career with Warwickshire

MJK Smith enjoyed an extraordinary domestic cricket career. He played for Warwickshire, who are known as the Bears.

He scored more than 30,000 runs for the county side.

Across his entire first-class career, he scored 39,832 runs.

He was known for the aggressive strokeplay during an era when championship cricket was generally defensive.

Smith’s statistics reflect the remarkable consistency.

He scored the

  • 69 centuries
  • 241 half-centuries
  • Highest score: 204
  • He also achieved a rare consistency milestone.

MJK Smith has represented England in 50 Test matches. He also captained the national side in 25 Tests.

His contribution did not end after retirement. He retired from first-class cricket in 1975.
