The ‘Sangathan Se Samriddhi’ campaign was launched by Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh, with the aim of empowering marginalized rural households. The campaign seeks to achieve this objective by ensuring that all eligible rural women are included in Self Help Groups (SHGs). During the launch event, the Minister stated that the government’s goal is to expand the coverage of SHGs to include 10 crore women, up from the current nine crore.

Expressing his satisfaction, Mr. Singh noted that the number of SHG members has increased significantly, from 2.35 crore in May 2014 to over nine crore currently. He also shared that the government aims to ensure that every woman associated with SHGs can earn a minimum of one lakh rupees per year. Additionally, he encouraged women to produce millets as a means of improving their livelihoods.
