Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurates Zoram Mega Food Park in Mizoram

Union Food Processing Minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal has virtually inaugurated the “Zoram Mega Food Park” in Mizoram. Ministry of Food Processing Industries is focusing on boosting the food processing industry. This Mega Food Park will benefit farmers, growers, processors, consumers and prove to be a big boost to the growth of the food processing sector in the North East Region.

About Zoram Mega Food Park:

  • Mega Food Park will provide direct and indirect employment to 5,000 people and benefit around 25,000 farmers.
  • The park will leverage an additional investment of about Rs. 250 crore in 30 food processing units and would eventually lead to a turnover of about Rs. 500 crore annually.
  • This Mega Food Park is equipped with a dry warehouse of 3000 metric tonnes capacity and cold storage of 1000 metric tonnes.
