India is set to host the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM-14) and 8th Mission Innovation (MI-8) meeting in Goa from July 19th to 22nd, 2023. The event will take place on the sidelines of the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting. With the theme “Advancing Clean Energy Together,” this year’s CEM and MI meetings will bring together global stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, private sector entities, academia, innovators, civil society, and policymakers. The four-day program will feature high-level ministerial dialogues, global initiative launches, award announcements, minister-CEO roundtables, and a diverse range of side events related to clean energy transition.
In a recent event held in New Delhi, Union Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister R. K. Singh and Union Science & Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh unveiled the website and logo for the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial and 8th Mission Innovation meetings. The website, accessible at https://www.cem-mi-india.org/, provides information on delegate registration, the program overview, speaker details, participant and member portals, and more. The logo, designed by the Government of India, represents the diversity of engagement among countries and partners, highlighting renewable resources such as sun, wind, and water. It also signifies the variability of renewable energy resources and emphasizes the importance of energy efficiency.

Under the theme “Advancing Clean Energy Together,” CEM-14 / MI-8 will host high-level roundtables, side events, and technology showcases aimed at accelerating the deployment of clean energy. The event will encourage the development of policies and programs that advance clean energy technology and solutions worldwide.
The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) was established in 2009 as a global forum to promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology, facilitate knowledge sharing, and encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy. The CEM has 29 members, including the European Commission and 28 governments from around the world.
Mission Innovation (MI) is a global forum comprising 23 countries and the European Commission. MI aims to accelerate the clean energy revolution and progress towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and pathways to net-zero emissions. Its primary objective is to catalyze a decade of action and investment in research, development, and demonstration of clean energy technologies.
