India's First Indigenous Quantum Computing Facility to Launch in Amaravati on April 14, 2026
Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu will launch the India’s first indigenous quantum computing testing facility in Amaravati on the 14th April, 2026. This launch will coincide with the World Quantum Day. This initiative is expected to position Andhra Pradesh state at the forefront in the advanced computing as this project will be emerging the major global hub for the quantum research, innovation and hardware development.
his new facility will be launched at the SRM University Amaravati and will represent the major milestone in the India’s push towards the self-reliance in advanced technologies.
Along with it this quantum facility center at Medha Towers in Gannavaram will also be launched virtually. The main highlight of the launch event will be the live demonstration of the quantum system in where the cooling process of the processor in the Amaravati 1Q system will be initiated remotely.
This will marks the India’s first step towards the building the indigenous quantum hardware infrastructure.
The project is part of the ambitious Amaravati Quantum Valley and which is aims to transform the region into the global quantum computing hub.
Key developments of this project is,
This project will put Amravati among the top emerging quantum ecosystems in the world.
The facility will focuses on the cutting-edge technologies which are crucial for the quantum computing like the,
Strategic Applications
These technologies have the wider applications in to the defense systems, healthcare innovation and also the semiconductor manufacturing.
During the launch of this project two systems will be showcased live which are,
The initiative also aligns with the India’s National Quantum Mission and which is aims to,
This facility will adds a hardware dimension to the India’s quantum ecosystem which was earlier was focused more on the software and cloud-based solutions.
