Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani Sworn in as Additional Judge of J&K and Ladakh High Court

Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani was administered the oath of office as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The oath was administered by Chief Justice N. Kotiswar Singh in Srinagar.

Presidential Appointment and Authorisation

During the ceremony, the notification from the Government of India’s Ministry of Law and Justice, the Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India, and the Letter of Authorisation from the Lieutenant-Governor of J&K authorising the Chief Justice to administer the oath were read out in court.

Experienced Judicial Career

Justice Wani joined the judicial service in 1997 and has served as a judicial officer in various capacities over the years, gaining extensive experience in the field.

Increased Strength of the High Court

With the elevation of Justice Wani, the strength of judges in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has risen to 16, including the Chief Justice. This addition to the judiciary is expected to further strengthen the administration of justice in the region.

The swearing-in ceremony was a significant event, marking the appointment of a seasoned judicial officer to the esteemed position of an Additional Judge in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
