Kalagram, nestled in the sacred city of Prayagraj during Mahakumbh 2025, is a cultural haven that celebrates India’s rich heritage. Created by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Kalagram is designed to offer a sensory journey into the traditions of Bharat. It brings together a blend of craft, cuisine, and cultural performances, offering an immersive experience that connects visitors to India’s diverse and timeless cultural legacy. Key Highlights of Kalagram

• Kalagram’s Location & Size: Situated in the 10-acre Nagavasuki area in Prayagraj, Kalagram is a sprawling cultural space designed to showcase India’s traditions.
• Inauguration: Kalagram was inaugurated on January 12, 2025, by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism.
• Entrance Façade: A 35-foot-wide, 54-foot-high entrance depicting sacred stories like the 12 Jyotirlingas and Lord Shiva’s act of consuming Halahal.
• Thematic Zones (Sanskriti Aangans): Seven distinct regions represent the diverse cultural heritage of India, including temple themes such as Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Pushkar’s Brahma Mandir.
• Artisan Showcase: 230 master artisans from across India demonstrate regional craftsmanship, such as Bengal’s Pattachitra paintings, Assam’s bamboo crafts, and Tamil Nadu’s Tanjore paintings.

Cultural Performances

• Over 15,000 artists perform daily, with performances including classical music, folk dances, Kathak, Bhangra, and productions by the National School of Drama.
• Anubhuti Mandapam (Immersive Zone): An immersive 360-degree experience depicting the celestial story of Ganga’s descent to Earth.
• Aviral Shashvat Kumbh Zone (Exhibition Zone): An in-depth look at the history of Mahakumbh through artifacts, digital exhibits, and insights from the Archaeological Survey of India and National Archives.
• Satvik Flavours of India: A food zone offering 28 varieties of satvik cuisine, representing India’s diverse culinary heritage with purity and authenticity.
