Kevin Durant Reaches 30,000 Points – 8th Player in NBA History
Kevin Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to surpass 30,000 career points during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Phoenix Suns star reached the milestone in the third quarter with two free throws, finishing the game with 34 points. Despite his performance, the Suns lost 119-112, marking their fifth defeat in six games.
Durant joins legends like LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan in the 30,000-point club. He achieved the feat in his 1,101st game, tying Abdul-Jabbar as the third-fastest player to do so.
Ja Morant, who led the Grizzlies with 26 points, presented Durant with the game ball post-match in recognition of his achievement, highlighting the moment’s significance.
Acknowledging his journey, Durant credited his teammates, coaches, and support system: “I’ve got to give credit to the people who have helped me since I was a kid.”
With 30,000 points behind him, Durant now eyes Wilt Chamberlain’s 31,419 points as his next target on the all-time scoring list.
