Khelo India National Women Kho Kho Leagues to Take Place in Three Phases

The Khelo India Senior Women National Kho Kho league is to take place at Chandigarh University, Punjab. Khelo India Senior Women National Kho Kho league will be held from 10th to 13th January 2023 and it will be held over three phases.

The Khelo India Senior Women National Kho Kho league is being organized by the Kho-Kho Federation of India, with complete full financial support from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs, and Sports.

Khelo India National Women Kho Kho Leagues to Take Place in Three Phases- Key Points

  • The Union Ministry has sanctioned the tournament at a total cost of Rs 32.25 Lakh over the three phases.
  • The ministry has agreed to a total sum of Rs 18 Lakh as Prize Money for the top 4 positions over the 3 phases.
  • In the Khelo India Senior Women National Kho Kho league, a total of 12 teams will be part and 200 players will participate.
  • The Kho-Kho women’s league for junior and sub-junior age groups is scheduled from 16th January to 19th January 2023 at the Alberta Ekka Kho Kho Stadium, Hotwar, Ranchi.
  • The Khelo India Women league is being organized since 2021 across multiple states of India.
  • It is an initiative taken by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • The government aims to develop the overall sports ecosystem of the country and bring out the best of women’s sports talent across the state and give them a platform to compete.

About Khela India Youth Games

Khelo India Youth Games are the annual national-level multidisciplinary games in India held during January and February for two categories namely Under-17 for school students and Under-21 for college students.

On 31st January 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Khelo India School Games at the opening ceremony based on the Guru-Shishya tradition held at Indira Gandhi Arena.
