Kolkata Inaugurated FITEXPO INDIA 2023
The FITEXPO INDIA 2023, one of Asia’s premier sports, fitness, and wellness trade expos, commenced on December 1 at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata. The grand inauguration ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Guest-of-Honour, Shri Radhe Shyam Goenka, Chairman, Emami, and prominent figures from the fitness, sports, and wellness industry.
The mega expo, sprawling over 3 lac sq feet of indoor and outdoor space, is set to captivate over 5000 fitness, sports, and wellness enthusiasts. With an expected footfall of over 1.25 lac, FITEXPO INDIA 2023 is poised to be a colossal success. The expo caters to both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) interactions, making it a holistic affair.
Top brands are showcasing a diverse range of sports and fitness products, making the expo a hub for industry players and enthusiasts alike. The fourth edition of this biennial event promises to provide a 360-degree view of the rapidly expanding sports, fitness, and wellness sectors.
Described as a ‘Kumbh Mela‘ for sports, fitness, and wellness, FITEXPO INDIA connects with the growing base of enthusiasts and practitioners. Mr. Gagan Sachdev, founder-director of the expo, emphasized the significant growth of the Indian sports, fitness, and wellness sector, now five times larger under initiatives like Khelo India and Fit India.
The expo features a special platform, SPORTEXPO, exclusively curated for the sports industry. This platform focuses on promoting sports goods, sportswear, sports infrastructure development, and technology. According to Mr. Rajesh Bhatia, President CSDA, there is a vast opportunity for the sports market in the Eastern region, making the expo a crucial event in Kolkata.
FITEXPO INDIA 2023 offers more than 100 different events covering fitness, bodybuilding, powerlifting, martial arts, dance fitness, and much more. The inclusion of 32 formats of martial arts, mixed martial arts, and combat sports adds a unique flavor to the event. From popular games like cricket and football to indoor games like badminton and table tennis, the expo caters to a wide spectrum of interests.
Mr. Sanjay Srivastav, Jt Convenor, SPORTEXPO, highlights the importance of bringing together State Sports Associations and National and International Brands to create collaborations and opportunities for the further development of sports.
FITEXPO INDIA 2023 enjoys patronage from the Fit India Movement and Khelo India, with additional support from institutions and government bodies. The event is held under the aegis of CWBTA and WBIDC, reinforcing its significance in the fitness and wellness landscape.
