Maharaj Man Singh II served as the inaugural Governor of Rajasthan, previously titled Rajpramukh, from 30th March 1949. Kalraj Mishra, an Indian politician, assumed office as the Governor of Rajasthan on 9th September 2019. Prior to this role, he served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and held the position of Cabinet Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the BJP-led NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Governor is the head of the state and represents the central government in the state. As per the Indian Constitution, Governor uses to be the first citizen of the state.
