The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is tasked with the management of airports across the country, while the Ministry of Civil Aviation is a responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance and administration of civil aviation infrastructure in India. AAI’s jurisdiction includes 162 airports, encompassing 34 international airports. Additionally, AAI plays a crucial role in providing Air Traffic Management Service (ATMS) across Indian airspace and adjacent oceanic regions, ensuring the safety of aircraft operations.
There are 34 international airports in India which are managed and maintained by Airports Authority of India (AAI). Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the new International Airport in Rajkot, Gujarat.
