Max Verstappen, the Red Bull racing sensation, showcased his exceptional skills at the Formula One Mexico City Grand Prix. He snatched the lead by the first corner after splitting the Ferrari front row occupied by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Verstappen’s incredible start marked his record-breaking 16th victory of the season, surpassing his own previous season’s record.
In a thrilling race, Max Verstappen initiated his pursuit from the third position. His rapid start allowed him to surge past the Ferrari duo at the first corner, securing the lead. This impressive maneuver mirrored his 2021 victory in Mexico when he utilized the draft down the long starting straight to pass two cars. Verstappen’s quick bolt off the line positioned him between the two Ferraris, enabling him to take the lead early in the race.
Max Verstappen’s win at the Mexico City Grand Prix was his third consecutive victory at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Notably, it also marked his 16th win of the season, surpassing his own record set in the previous year. With 51 career wins, he now shares the fourth position in Formula One history with Alain Prost. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes leads the pack with an impressive 103 victories.
Lewis Hamilton secured the second position in the race, continuing his consistent performance. Charles Leclerc, who had started from pole position for the second consecutive race, finished third. However, Leclerc has struggled to convert pole positions into wins throughout his career, with only four victories in 22 starts from pole.
