MP Cabinet Approves 35% Job Reservation for Women in State Services

Madhya Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, approved a 35 percent reservation for women in all state government recruitments. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held at the Mantralaya in Bhopal.

Women’s Reservation in Government Services

  • Increase in Reservation: The cabinet approved raising women’s reservation in state government recruitment from 33% to 35%.
  • Statement by Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla: Described this as a “major step toward women empowerment.”

New Fertilizer Sales Centres

  • Approval: 254 new fertilizer sales centers will be opened across the state.
  • Objective: Aims to reduce long queues and improve access for farmers, allowing easier cash payment for fertilizers.

Critical Thermal Power Plant in Sarni

  • New Power Plant Approval: Cabinet approved the establishment of a new 660 MW critical thermal power plant.
  • Replacement of Older Units: The new plant will replace decommissioned units totaling 830 MW (two plants of 205 MW each, and two of 210 MW each).

Recruitment Age for Assistant Professors in Medical Colleges

  • Increase in Age Limit: The maximum recruitment age for Assistant Professors in medical colleges was increased from 40 years to 50 years.

Success in Rewa Conclave

  • Participation: Approximately 4,000 investors and businesspeople attended.
  • Investment Proposals: Received proposals worth ₹31,000 crores.
  • Employment Generation: Expected to create over 28,000 jobs in the state.
