National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) Completes the target of 1 Million

The National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) was launched by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 8th December 2021. The National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) aims to provide awareness and training on Intellectual Property (IP). On 31st July 2022, the scheme met its goal of training one million students before the deadline on 15th August 2022. The number of students or faculty trained under the Intellectual Property Awareness Mission is 10,05,272 and 3663 educational institutions have been covered.

IP Awareness in India

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, mandated to increase IP awareness throughout the country. This initiative was also a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. India is celebrating 75 years of Independence, and IP awareness signifies the intellectual capital developed by the country which should be protected and recognized by every citizen. IP awareness aims to increase innovation and support creativity. The creativity which contributes to society, culture, and economic progress is the priority. It also encourages inventors, artists, and authors and ensures the sustainability of reach and development.

National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM)

The National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) targets students of two levels. Level A includes the students of class 9th to class 12th and Level B includes students from various colleges and universities. NIPAM was launched with the vision of raising innovation and supporting the creativity of inventors or authors who contribute to society with their ideas and affect society economically and culturally. Also, NIPAM seeks to contribute to the creation of Atmanirbhar Bharat by increasing IP awareness all around the country.
