National Unity Day Celebration: Amit Shah Flags Off ‘Run for Unity’

In New Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the ‘Run for Unity’ to commemorate National Unity Day on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, highlighting Patel’s role in India’s unification and development. Joined by dignitaries, Shah honored Patel’s legacy and emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a unified and developed India by 2047.

Unity and Development Pledge

Initiated in 2015 by PM Modi, the ‘Run for Unity’ promotes the nation’s commitment to unity and a developed future. Shah noted that this event symbolizes unity and is part of India’s goal to lead globally by 2047.

Legacy of Sardar Patel

Reflecting on Patel’s decisive unification of 550 princely states post-independence, Shah credited Patel for the foundation of a strong and cohesive India. He lamented Patel’s delayed recognition, noting PM Modi’s efforts to honor him with the world’s tallest statue in Kevadia, Gujarat.

Inspiration for the Next Generation

Shah called on the youth to draw inspiration from Patel’s vision, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to unity and progress. The ‘Run for Unity’ remains a key event to unify Indians and achieve the vision of a fully developed nation by 2047.
