NIPCCD organized a Refresher Training Programme on Mission Vatsalya

The National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) is an autonomous organization headquartered in New Delhi, India.

Ministry, Funding and Aim:

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is the nodal ministry responsible for the implementation of Mission Vatsalya.

As a centrally sponsored scheme, it receives funding and support from the central government.

The scheme aims to enhance the overall well-being and protection of children in India.

The main objectives of NIPCCD are as follows:

  1. To develop and promote voluntary action in social development: NIPCCD works towards encouraging and supporting voluntary organizations and individuals involved in social development initiatives.

  2. To take a comprehensive view of child development and develop and promote programs in pursuance of the National Policy for Children: NIPCCD focuses on child development and formulates and implements programs aligned with the National Policy for Children in India.
  3. To develop measures for coordination of governmental and voluntary action in social development: NIPCCD plays a crucial role in coordinating efforts between government agencies and voluntary organizations to ensure effective social development initiatives.
  4. To evolve a framework and perspective for organizing children’s programs through governmental and voluntary efforts: NIPCCD works towards developing a framework and perspective for organizing various programs and activities aimed at the welfare and development of children, involving both government and voluntary efforts.

About

NIPCCD is involved in various research, training, and capacity building activities related to child development, social welfare, and women empowerment. It organizes training programs, seminars, workshops, and refresher courses to enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals working in the field of child development and welfare.

Focus

The recent Refresher Training Programme organized by NIPCCD was focused on Mission Vatsalya. Mission Vatsalya is a scheme aimed at achieving development and child protection priorities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It emphasizes child rights, advocacy, awareness, and strengthening the juvenile justice care and protection system, with the goal of leaving no child behind. The scheme includes various components such as improving the functioning of statutory bodies, strengthening service delivery structures, upscaling institutional care/services, promoting non-institutional community-based care, emergency outreach services, and training and capacity building.
