Project Vijayak Celebrates 15th Raising Day in Kargil
Marking 15 years of dedicated service, Project Vijayak of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) recently celebrated its 15th Raising Day in Kargil, Ladakh. Established in 2010, the project plays a vital role in building and maintaining strategic roads in high-altitude areas of Ladakh, contributing to both defence preparedness and regional development. Named after the historic Operation Vijay—India’s military operation during the Kargil War of 1999—the project reflects both strategic symbolism and operational necessity in the sensitive border areas.
These roads are critical for mobilisation of troops, movement of supplies, and maintaining connectivity in remote border regions, especially near the Line of Control (LC).
