‘Music in the Park’ series under ‘Shruti Amrut’

This year, SPIC MACAY, in association with the Ministry of Culture and the New Delhi Municipal Council, presents “Shruti Amrut,” a new instalment of its wildly popular “Music in the Park” series. Eminent musicians from all over the nation performed to highlight the beauty of Indian classical music.

The first event in this series for 2023 took place today at 3 p.m. at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi’s Nehru Park.

Performances at ‘Music in the Park’ series under ‘Shruti Amrut’

  • Aman Ali Bangash, a 7th Generation musician from the Senia Bangash Gharana, opened the evening with a Sarod performance.
  • Anubrata Chatterjee (Tabla) and Abhishek Mishra were with him (Tabla).
  • After that, Padma Bhushan Begum Parween Sultana of the Patiala Gharana performed Hindustani vocal music with the help of Akram Khan on the tabla, Shrinivas Acharya on the harmonium, and Shadaab Sultana on the vocals.

Over 850 cities throughout the world have chapters of this movement, which was founded in 1977.
