Statista Market Insights forecasts that the projected revenue of the global cryptocurrency market is estimated to reach US$45.3 billion, while the number of users is anticipated to rise to 861.01 million by 2025. Amid escalating tariff tensions in early April (2025), major cryptocurrencies hit a massive low, especially Bitcoin, which reached a record high of more than $107,000 in January 2025. However, following Trump’s announcement of halting tariffs for 90 days, Bitcoin’s value surged to a $1.92 trillion market cap, standing as the most valuable and most popular cryptocurrency.
Considered as digital gold, Bitcoin is dominating the global market with a total supply of only 21 million coins, and its growth is being driven by institutional backing, ETF approvals, and innovation, as reported by Forbes. Following Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether take the second and third spots, with a present market cap of $220.63 billion and $149.41 billion, respectively.
