Jammu & Kashmir also grapples with high unemployment, standing at 29.8% in the 15-29 age group in urban areas. Notably, females in the region bear a more significant burden, with an unemployment rate of 51.8%, surpassing the male rate of 19.8%.
The overall unemployment rate in the 15-29 age group in urban areas across the country is 17.3%, with females experiencing a higher rate of 22.9% compared to males at 15.5%. This data provides a snapshot of the employment landscape, highlighting the challenges faced by the youth in various states.
The survey underscores significant regional variations in unemployment rates. Gujarat boasts the lowest rate at 7.1%, followed closely by Delhi at 8.4% in the July-September quarter among individuals aged 15-29.
