Which Indian State does not have any IIT Institute?

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the most prestigious engineering colleges in India. They provide top-quality education, research opportunities and excellent career prospects. With 23 IITs across the country, these institutes help students achieve success in science and technology. However, not all states have an IIT. Some regions are still waiting for one, despite the increasing demand for higher technical education.

India has 23 IITs spread across different states. These institutes provide top-quality engineering and technology education. The first IIT was established in Kharagpur in 1951. Over time, more IITs were set up to help students across the country. Admission to IITs is through the JEE Advanced exam. These institutes offer various courses in engineering, science and research, making them highly prestigious.

Which Indian State does not have an IIT?

Karnataka does not have any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). In 2008, the central government turned down the proposal to set one up because the state already has major institutions such as IISc and IIM. Meanwhile, several other states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan do have IITs, where students receive high-quality technical education and training.

Why does Karnataka not have any IIT Institute?

Karnataka does not have an IIT because the central government rejected the proposal in 2008. The reason was that Karnataka already has top institutes like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM). These institutes provide high-quality education, reducing the need for an IIT in the state.
