Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway
On March 12, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka and dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway to the country. The 118-km-long project will cut the distance between Bengaluru and Mysuru’s travel time from nearly three hours to just over 75 minutes.

The NH-275 segment between Bengaluru, Nidaghatta, and Mysuru will have six lanes constructed as part of the project, which has a total development cost of about Rs 8,480 crores.
An upcoming six-lane, access-controlled motorway with a length of 117 kilometres, the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway. Its construction would cost 8,000 crore and will take place in two stages. Phase-1 would run for 56 km between Bengaluru and Nidaghatta, and Phase-2 will run for 61 km between Nidaghatta and Mysuru. In March 2018, the project’s first stone was placed.
The National Highway 275 (NH 275), popularly known as the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, begins in Bengaluru, travels through Mysuru and Madikeri, and then terminates at Bantwal. Via Madikeri, this national motorway connects Bengaluru to the seaside city of Mangaluru. This highway’s Bengaluru to Mysuru segment was expanded from 4 to 10 lanes (6 lane is primary elevated controlled-access carriageway and 2 service roads on each end). It is anticipated to cut the three-hour trip between Bengaluru and Mysuru in half to 90 minutes.
