About the lessons:

  • These lesson plans have been chosen based on their relevance to education and industrial applications, and will be transacted by BIS officials and resource personnel for an interactive learning experience.
  • The lesson plans will also be hosted on the BIS website. The initiative is in line with the ‘Standards Clubs’ initiative, which aims to establish such clubs in educational institutions across India.
  • Over 4,200 clubs have already been formed, and more than 3,400 science teachers have been trained to act as mentors. These clubs undertake student-centric activities like debates, quizzes, and competitions, including standards-writing competitions. Students are also taken for exposure visits to industries, laboratories, and BIS offices, which have been developed as learning spaces.

BIS provides financial support to these clubs for undertaking up to three activities in a year. This initiative is expected to benefit a wide range of students, including those in schools, colleges, and technical institutions, and contribute to their capacity building for engaging successfully in various economic sectors in the country.
