The G20 Summit 2023 is scheduled to take place on September 9th and 10th, spanning two days.

The summit will be held at the prestigious ‘Bharat Mandappam,’ which is located within the ITPO Convention Centre in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.

Countries Part of the G20

The Group of Twenty (G20) comprises 19 countries and the European Union. The member countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These countries collectively represent around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of global trade, and about two-thirds of the world’s population.

G20 Summit 2023 Agenda:

The summit has a comprehensive schedule that includes various meetings leading up to and during the event. These meetings aim to foster cooperation and understanding among participating nations. Some of the key events leading up to the summit include the Sherpa Meeting, Finance Deputies Meeting, Ministerial Meetings, Sustainable Finance Working Group Meeting, Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion Meeting, and Framework Working Group Meeting.

G20 Summit 2023 Theme:

The theme for the G20 Summit 2023 is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which translates to “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” This theme emphasizes global unity and interconnectedness and highlights the importance of environmentally sustainable choices.

G20 Working Mechanism:

The G20 operates through two parallel tracks: the Finance Track and the Sherpa Track. Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors lead the Finance Track, while Sherpas lead the Sherpa Track. The G20 Presidency rotates among member countries, with India having held the presidency before handing it over to Brazil.
