Gujarati New Year 2022: Gujarati New Year which is also known as Bestu Varas is celebrated a day after Diwali. The Gujarati New Year falls on Shukla Paksha Pratipada of the Kartik month. The Gujarati New Year is also called Varsha-Pratipada or Padwa. The Gujarati New Year is one of the major festivals in Gujarat.

Gujarati New Year 2022: Date

Gujarati New Year 2022 or Bestu Varas is celebrated on 26th October 2022. It is celebrated a day after Diwali and this year it coincides with Goverdhan puja. There is no specific time to perform the puja and rituals in Gujarati New Year. The Pratipada tithi begins at 6.48 PM on 25th October 2022 and Pratipada tithi ends at 5.12 PM on 26th October 2022.

Gujarati New Year 2022: Bestu Varas

On the auspicious occasion of Gujarati New Year or Bestu Varas businessman, traders will start new account books after the old ones are closed. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped during Chopda Puja which makes the new year prosperous and profitable. The rituals include writing Subh and Labh on the new account books.
