New Leadership in the Kho Kho Federation of India

The Kho Kho Federation of India has introduced a new leadership team with the aim of promoting and developing Kho Kho both within the country and internationally. The newly appointed body brings together experienced individuals from across India, all committed to strengthening this indigenous sport.

Vice Presidents Bringing Regional Expertise

The federation now includes eight Vice Presidents who represent different state associations. These individuals will help shape policies and programs to expand the sport’s reach and ensure fair and inclusive development.

The Vice Presidents are:

  • Bhawar Singh Palara from the Rajasthan Kho Kho Association
  • Kalyan Chatterjee from the West Bengal Kho Kho Association
  • Kamaljeet Arora from the Chhattisgarh Amateur Kho Kho Association
  • Lokeshwara from the Karnataka State Kho Kho Association
  • N Madhusudan Singh from the Manipur Amateur Kho Kho Association
  • M Seetha Rami Reddy from the Andhra Pradesh Kho Kho Association
  • Pradyumna Mishra from the Odisha Kho Kho Association
  • Rajib Prakash Baruah from the Assam Kho Kho Association

Each of them brings valuable experience and regional insights to the national body.

Joint Secretaries to Strengthen Coordination

To support the administrative functioning of the federation, four Joint Secretaries have been appointed. Their role will include managing coordination between state units, driving participation in competitions, and helping execute national programs.

The Joint Secretaries are:

  • A Nelson Samuel from the Tamil Nadu Game Kho Kho Association
  • L R Verma from the Himachal Pradesh Kho Kho Association
  • Sanjay Yadav from the Madhya Pradesh Amateur Kho Kho Association
  • Sunil K Naik from the All Goa Kho Kho Association

These officials will play a key role in ensuring smooth communication and implementation of plans across the country.

Executive Members Representing All Corners of India

The newly formed executive committee includes members from various parts of the country, making the leadership more diverse and representative of India’s different regions.

The executive members are:

  • Amrinder Pal Singh from Jammu and Kashmir
  • Anup Chakraborty from Sikkim
  • Bijan Kumar Das from West Bengal
  • Gurchand Singh from Punjab
  • M V S S Prasad from Andhra PradeshNeeraj Kumar from Bihar
  • N Krishnamurthy from Telangana
  • Pramod Kumar Pandey from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu
  • Puto Bui from Arunachal Pradesh
  • Rajat Sharma from Uttaranchal
  • Sanjeev Sharma from Chandigarh
  • Santosh Prasad from Jharkhand
  • Surya Prakash Khatri from Delhi

These members will support national efforts to promote Kho Kho in schools, colleges, and communities, while also helping organize tournaments and awareness campaigns.

Kho Kho’s Global Aspirations

Rajeev Mittal, a former Member of Parliament and sports advocate, has expressed strong support for including Kho Kho in major international sports events. He pointed out that currently fifty-eight countries play Kho Kho, and the goal is to expand this number to ninety nations within the year.

Once this target is achieved, the federation plans to present the sport to the International Olympic Committee. Mittal is optimistic that Kho Kho could be part of the Asian Games in 2030 and even the Olympic Games in 2032.

He emphasized that indigenous Indian sports like Kho Kho deserve a place on the global stage, and the new leadership will work tirelessly to turn this vision into reality.
