President Droupadi Murmu Virtually Launches Ayushman Bhav Campaign for Universal Health Coverage

President Droupadi Murmu, in a historic virtual ceremony, launched the Ayushman Bhav campaign and the Ayushman Bhava portal from the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar, marking a significant stride towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in India. This campaign aims to enhance the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services, especially for underserved communities.

Multi-Ministerial Approach:

President Murmu praised the Ayushman Bhav campaign for its multi-ministerial approach, highlighting its potential to bring healthcare services to the remotest corners of India. This approach is instrumental in realizing the ambitious goal of providing healthcare to all.

Antyodaya Philosophy:

Emphasizing the principle of antyodaya (good health for all), the President lauded the involvement of local governance and announced that gram panchayats achieving their healthcare goals would be recognized as Ayushman Gram Panchayats.

Seva Pakwada Initiative:

The President commended the Seva Pakwada initiative, scheduled from September 17 to October 2, which seeks to ensure that essential health services reach every individual. This reflects the government’s commitment to achieving sustainable development goals promptly.

Ayushman Bhav Goals:

  • Access to Ayushman Cards: The campaign aims to facilitate access to Ayushman cards for citizens.
  • ABHA IDs Generation: It intends to generate ABHA IDs, streamlining healthcare services.
  • Disease Awareness: Ayushman Bhav will also raise awareness about critical health schemes and conditions, including non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.

Three Components of Ayushman Bhav:

  1. Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0: Bringing healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of people.
  2. Ayushman Melas at HWC and CHC: Organizing health and wellness events in Health and Wellness Centers (HWC) and Community Health Clinics (CHC).
  3. Ayushman Sabhas: Holding health meetings in every village and panchayat to engage communities in healthcare discussions.

Digital Inclusion:

The President also applauded India’s digital inclusion efforts, ensuring that every village and district has access to healthcare facilities, which significantly contributes to the reach of healthcare services nationwide.
