About Mukarram Jah Bahadur: Last Nizam of Hyderabad

  • Two of the most renowned dynasties in the Muslim world were connected to Mukarram Jah, also known by his title Nawab Mir Barket Ali Khan Walashan Mukarram Jah Bahadur.
  • Durrushehvar, his mother, was the lone child of Abdul Majid, the final Caliph of Islam who was exiled by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk when the Caliphate was abolished.
  • His father was Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan’s oldest son, Azam Jah, whose kingdom united with India on September 18, 1948.
  • With the pulls and demands emanating from the enormous family, relatives, and entourage of servants, Mukarram Jah became Nizam VIII following the inauguration ceremony on April 6, 1967, much after the dominion was combined with India and only a few scattered properties were left in the family.
  • His grandpa Nizam Osman Ali Khan passed away in February 1967, just a few short weeks earlier.
