The 19th edition of the Divya Kala Mela was inaugurated in Visakhapatnam by the Hon. Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri S. Abdul Nazeer, alongside dignitaries like Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, and other MPs. The event provided concessional loans of ₹40 lakh to 10 Divyang beneficiaries under NDFDC schemes and distributed assistive devices with the support of CSR partners such as HPCL, GAIL India, and IOCL.
The fair showcased vibrant products from 100 Divyang artisans across 20 states/UTs, including handicrafts, handlooms, embroidery, and packaged foods. It aims to support the “Vocal for Local” initiative and promote financial independence among Divyang entrepreneurs.

Event Details
- The Mela will run from September 19 to 29, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, at Marine Ground, Andhra University.
- Cultural performances by Divyang artists and food stalls with regional delicacies will also be featured.

- Dr. Virendra Kumar highlighted the Ministry’s achievements in empowering Divyangjan and their commitment to inclusion. All dignitaries took a Swachhata Pledge to emphasize hygiene and community responsibility.
