AP CM Naidu Begins UAE Visit to Attract Green Investments

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has embarked on a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) aimed at boosting foreign investments in sectors like green energy, digital infrastructure, and urban development. On the first day of his visit, he engaged with top Indian diplomats in Dubai and held key business meetings, signalling a renewed push to project Andhra Pradesh as a global investment hub.

Strengthening India-UAE Ties Through State Engagement

  • Chief Minister Naidu began his trip by meeting A. Amarnath, Charge d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and Satish Sivan, India’s Consul General in Dubai.
  • He noted that India-UAE relations have strengthened over the last decade, especially under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
  • Naidu highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has introduced progressive, investor-friendly policies to attract global firms and innovators. He cited Google’s investment in AP as a milestone in building a tech-driven economy.

Key Focus: Green Energy and Data Centres

During the Dubai meetings, CM Naidu showcased Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as a leader in green energy and digital infrastructure. He invited UAE-based investors to,

  • Invest in renewable energy projects, particularly solar and wind power
  • Explore opportunities in data centre development, leveraging AP’s strategic coastal and digital connectivity
  • Partner in smart city and infrastructure initiatives in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam
  • This focus aligns with India’s broader push for sustainable development and a green transition, as part of its climate commitments and net-zero goals.

₹100 Crore Pledge for Amaravati Library

  • One of the major outcomes of the visit was an offer by Ravi P.N.C. Menon to donate ₹100 crore for the establishment of a world-class public library in Amaravati.
  • The library is envisioned as a modern knowledge centre that will serve students, researchers, and citizens.
  • Menon, who hails from Kerala and leads one of the UAE’s top real estate groups, praised Naidu’s long-term vision for urban and social infrastructure.
  • The initiative is expected to boost Amaravati’s cultural and educational ecosystem, complementing other public infrastructure plans.
