Comedian Raju Srivastava has passed away in Delhi at the age of 58. He had suffered a heart attack while exercising on August 10. As per a report Raju was still conscious and with normal body movements. The comedian was earlier registering Spo2 levels of 80 per cent to 90 per cent without oxygen support.

Raju Srivastava: Early Career
- Srivastava appeared in Hindi films such as “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Baazigar”, “Bombay to Goa” (remake) and “Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya”. He was one of the contestants on “Bigg Boss” season three.
- He was the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.
- Srivastava, who has been in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, shot to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005.
- In 2013, Raju along with his wife participated in Nach Baliye season 6, which is a couples dance show on StarPlus.
Political career:
The Samajwadi Party fielded Srivastava from Kanpur for the 2014 Lok Sabha election. But on 11 March 2014, Srivastava returned the ticket, saying he was not getting enough support from the local units of the party. After that, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 19 March 2014.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi nominated him to be part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Since then he has been promoting cleanliness through his events in different cities. He has made various music videos for promoting cleanliness. He has also shot various TV commercials and social service message video for Swacha Bharat Abhiyaan.
