- The NDA candidate won the election with 452 votes, defeating Opposition nominee B. Sudershan Reddy (300 votes), aided by cross-voting including support from 11 YSRCP MPs.

- During the State Visit of the Prime Minister of Mauritius to India, seven MoUs/agreements were signed between the two nations covering key areas such as Science & Technology, Oceanography, Public Administration, Power, Development Projects, Hydrography, and Space Cooperation.
- Additionally, three announcements were made, including academic collaborations between IIT Madras and University of Mauritius, and a proposal to establish a 17.5 MW Floating Solar PV Project at Tamarind Falls with support from NTPC Ltd.
Amit Shah, inaugurates Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme

- Shri Amit Shah launched the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) virtually at Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar airports, expanding this initiative to a total of 13 airports nationwide.
- The programme, aligned with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Speed, Scale, and Scope, offers passengers seamless immigration clearance within 30 seconds, eliminating long queues and manual checks.

- Namo Bharat becomes India’s fastest train, running at 160 km/h on the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor.

India to Conduct National Surveys on Household Finance and Agriculture

- The National Statistics Office (NSO) under MoSPI will conduct two major surveys — the All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) and the Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households — from July 2026 to June 2027.
- These nationally representative surveys provide vital data on household finance, indebtedness, assets, and agricultural livelihoods, and are key for evidence-based policymaking by institutions like the RBI, Ministry of Agriculture, and NITI Aayog.

PM Modi Announces ₹1,200 Cr Aid for Uttarakhand Floods

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the devastating flood situation caused by cloudbursts, rains, and landslides in Uttarakhand and announced a financial assistance package of ₹1,200 crore to support relief and rehabilitation efforts.
- The aid will cover rebuilding homes under PM Awas Yojana, restoring national highways, reconstructing schools, providing relief via PMNRF, and distributing mini kits for livestock.

- During the State Visit of Mauritian PM Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam to India, both nations reaffirmed their strong ties through comprehensive discussions and the announcement of a Special Economic Package by India totaling ~USD 680 million.
- This includes grant-based projects (USD 215 mn) supporting healthcare, education, and aviation, as well as grant-cum-Line of Credit projects (USD 440 mn) for key infrastructure such as roads, ports, and air traffic control.
- Strategic cooperation was also agreed upon in areas like maritime security and the Chagos Marine Protected Area, with an additional USD 25 million in budgetary support.

- Insurance Surety Bonds (ISBs) issued for National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) contracts have surpassed a significant milestone of Rs. 10,000 crore.
- As of July 2025, 12 insurance companies have issued approximately 1,600 ISBs as Bid Security and 207 as Performance Security, totaling around Rs. 10,369 crores.
- NHAI promotes ISBs alongside Electronic Bank Guarantees (eBG) as cost-effective, secure alternatives to traditional Bank Guarantees in infrastructure projects.
