DRDO Successfully Tests Pinaka Extended Range Rocket In Pokharan

Pinaka Extended Range Rocket Trials

The Pinaka extended range rocket trials developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) were carried out in firing ranges of Pokhran, Rajasthan. Multiple successful Pinaka extended range rocket trials firings were conducted in Pokhran. The Pinaka extended range is developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization, DRDO, and is produced by a private sector firm. The trials were conducted in the presence of Army officials and DRDO officials. The 15 feet long missile of Advance Navigation and Control System destroyed the target as per the standard.

Pinaka MK-1 and Pinaka Area Denial Munition Rocket System

Previously, this year in April, test firing for the Pinaka MK-1 Enhanced Rocket System (EPRS) and the Pinaka Area Denial Munition Rocket Systems (ADM) was successfully conducted. A total of 24 EPRD rockets were fired on different ranges and all the rockets achieved the desired accuracy and consistency. In 2021, DRDO successfully conducted the trials for the extended range versions of the indigenously developed Pinaka rocket from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) at Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha.
