Eternal, the parent company of Zomato, has appointed Aditya Mangla as the new CEO of its food ordering and delivery division. This change took place on 6 July 2025, as part of a planned leadership transition. It is an important move as Eternal looks to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing food delivery market.
New CEO for Food Delivery Division
Aditya Mangla will take over the leadership of Eternal’s food delivery operations for the next two years. He replaces Rakesh Ranjan, who served as CEO for the same division for the past two years and will now step away from all senior management roles.
Aditya has been with Eternal since March 2021, holding several important roles. These include heading the supply and customer experience teams, where he worked to grow restaurant partnerships and make the delivery process better for users.
Leadership Values and Company Vision
Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Eternal, shared his thoughts on Aditya’s appointment. He said the company now needs leaders who can handle complex situations with honesty, speed, and care. He praised Aditya for often questioning and challenging decisions respectfully, saying that such qualities are valuable in leadership.
Deepinder also highlighted that the company is entering a new phase, and it is important to have independent thinkers who bring fresh ideas and improve operations.
Background: Recent Challenges
In April 2025, the Delhi High Court sent notices to Zomato and the Competition Commission of India (CCI) over an antitrust case. The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) had raised concerns about being left out of confidential details in the investigation. This case is still ongoing and could affect how Zomato operates in the future.
