Indian Naval Training Squadron Leaves Sihanoukville Port

The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS), comprising INS Sujata and ICGS Veera, departed from Sihanoukville, Cambodia, on 17 February 2025, marking the successful conclusion of a three-day goodwill visit. During the visit, the Indian Navy engaged with the Royal Cambodian Navy (RCN) in various activities, reinforcing maritime cooperation, bilateral relations, and India’s vision of SAGAR (Security And Growth for All in the Region).

Key Highlights of the Visit

Engagement with the Royal Cambodian Navy (RCN)

• Senior Officer of 1TS, Capt Anshul Kishore, along with commanding officers of INS Sujata and ICGS Veera, interacted with the RCN leadership.
• A meeting was held with Admiral Tea Vinh, Commander of RCN, along with other senior officials.
• Discussions covered bilateral cross-training, interoperability, joint exercises, regional security, and goodwill activities.

• A Small Arms Simulator was handed over to the Royal Cambodian Army as part of the ongoing defence engagement.

• Friendly sports fixtures were conducted between trainees of 1TS and RCN, fostering camaraderie.
• A guided tour of the Indian naval ships was organized for the Indian community in Sihanoukville.
• A reception onboard the ships was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, senior military officials, and members of the Indian diaspora.
