Shardiya Navratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals dedicated to Goddess Durga. Out of the four Navratris celebrated each year, the two most significant ones are Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri, while the other two are known as Gupt Navratri.
In 2025, Shardiya Navratri will begin on Monday, September 22 with Ghatasthapana and will conclude on Thursday, October 2 with Vijayadashami. This festival is celebrated with great devotion across India, especially in Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, and West Bengal.
Shardiye Navratri 2025 – Date
This year, the nine-day festival will start on September 22, 2025 (Monday) with Kalash Sthapana (Ghatasthapana).
The most important celebration of this period, Durga Puja, will begin on September 28 (Mahashashthi) and continue for five days until October 2 (Vijayadashami).

Ghatasthapana 2025 Muhurat
Ghatasthapana (Kalash Sthapana) marks the beginning of Navratri and is considered highly auspicious. Performing this ritual during the correct muhurat brings peace, happiness, and prosperity.
