TIME magazine’s list of World’s Greatest Places of 2023: Key Points
- As TIME Magazine revealed its list of the “World’s Best Places of 2023,” the Mayurbhanj region of Odisha and the Union Territory of Ladakh both made the cut.
- Although the travel industry is back in full force in 2023, it was noticed that there have been some significant changes in the way and places we visit.
- The magazine asked its global network of journalists and contributors for suggestions of locations, keeping an eye out for those offering novel and interesting experiences, in order to construct this list of the World’s Best Places.
- The senior editor at TIME, Emma Barker Bonomo, was reported by CNN as saying that the list highlights two current major trends in travel: sustainability and authenticity.
- Many of the places on this list are figuring out ways to allow tourists to visit with less of an impact on the environment.
- And many have catered to tourists’ yearning for distinctive, regional encounters by providing native-led tours or carefully selected homestays.
