On Thursday, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Jauljibi Mela 2024 in Pithoragarh, calling it an “invaluable heritage” of the state. The mela, historically significant for promoting harmony between India, Tibet, Nepal, and neighboring regions, plays a vital role in strengthening both economic and cultural ties. During the event, Dhami also launched 18 development projects worth ₹64.47 crores, with significant investments in rural and agricultural sectors. Tourism and Connectivity: Following the Prime Minister’s visit to Adi Kailash, the region has seen increased footfall, providing a boost to local businesses. Over 10,000 people visited the site this year, significantly higher than previous years.
Sustainable Agriculture: The state government has approved the Millet Mission to promote local products like Mandwa and Jhungura, while also supporting traditional farming techniques.

Expanding Infrastructure: Focus on building modern roads, tunnels, and bridges in border areas, alongside the creation of 18,000 cluster-based polyhouses to help farmers reach markets more effectively.
