World Cup 2023 Prize Money Announced by ICC

As cricket enthusiasts worldwide eagerly await the commencement of the 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, this year’s tournament promises to be an unparalleled sporting spectacle. With the tournament scheduled to kick off on October 5th and culminate in a grand final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19th, the stage is set for a thrilling cricketing showdown.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup isn’t just about prestige and glory; it’s also a chance for teams to secure substantial financial rewards. In a testament to the growing popularity and commercial appeal of cricket, the total prize pool for this edition stands at a whopping US$10 million.

The winners of the 10-team tournament will undoubtedly bask in the glory of lifting the prestigious trophy, but that’s not all. They will also walk away with a hefty cash prize of US$4 million. Meanwhile, the runners-up won’t be left empty-handed, as they will receive a commendable US$2 million for their efforts.

Total 10 teams will be vying for the World Cup 2023 trophy in the tournament. India is qualified for the tournament since it is the host country. New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and South Africa progressed from the Super League. Sri Lanka and Netherlands had to battle it out in the Qualifier matches held in June and July this year to progress to the World Cup.

The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on November 15 in Mumbai and on November 16 in Kolkata. Semi-finals and the final matches will have reserve days.
