For the year 2026, the Sansad Ratna Awards have been announced the outstanding performance by the Members of Parliament and Parliamentary Standing Committees. This year jury has selected the 10 Lok Sabha MPs, 2 Rajya Sabha MPs and 4 Parliamentary Standing Committees for the prestigious honors. Also among those awardees Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni from Pune and Lok Sabha MP Smita Uday Wagh from Jalgaon are the standout names.
Women MPs Among Major Award Winners
The inclusion of the Medha Kulkarni and Smita Uday Wagh has drawn special attention.
Smita Uday Wagh’s recognition is particularly significant because of her dedication to the parliamentary duties despite battling cancer.
According to the awards committee, she had continued attending Parliament sessions even while undergoing chemotherapy treatment which reflects the extraordinary commitment to public service.

What Is the Sansad Ratna Award?
The Sansad Ratna Award was instituted in the year 2010 by Chennai-based NGO Prime Point Foundation.
The main idea was inspired by the former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who also launched the first awards ceremony.
The honour also recognizes the parliamentarians who demonstrate outstanding legislative performance, active participation and effective public representation.
