Key Themes of IIGF 2025

IIGF 2025 is structured around three high-impact sub-themes that reflect India’s digital priorities in line with Viksit Bharat @2047.

1. Inclusive Digital Future

This track will focus on bridging the digital divide, promoting accessibility and affordability of internet services, and ensuring that digital development includes rural, underserved, and marginalised communities.

2. Digital Infrastructure for Resilient and Sustainable Growth

Discussions here will emphasize the role of robust digital infrastructure — such as cloud systems, data centres, and broadband connectivity — in supporting India’s economic growth, sustainability, and disaster resilience.

3. AI for People, Planet, and Progress

With growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence, this theme will explore the ethical, safe, and people-centric deployment of AI, ensuring it serves development goals, environmental sustainability, and digital rights protection.

A Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue Platform

Set up in 2021, IIGF is India’s national chapter of the UN Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF). It is designed as a multi-stakeholder platform, ensuring equal representation from government, civil society, industry, academia, and technical communities.

The forum is managed by a 14-member organizing committee, reflecting a balance of interests and expertise in shaping India’s digital policy agenda.

Speakers and representatives from UN IGF, Meta, Google Cloud, CCAOI, and top Indian universities will contribute to the discourse — covering everything from digital inclusion to cybersecurity, AI regulation, and governance frameworks.
