Centre Forms Committee to Monitor Bangladesh Border Situation

In response to the volatile situation in Bangladesh, the Indian government has established a committee to monitor the Indo-Bangladesh border and ensure the safety of Indian nationals and minority communities in the neighboring country. The committee will maintain communication with Bangladeshi authorities and oversee security measures at the border.

Incident Reports: On August 7, Bangladeshi nationals gathered near the International Boundary (IB) due to fears of violence from protestors in Bangladesh. BSF intervened to manage the situation, ensuring safety and security.

Actions Taken: The BSF engaged with local authorities and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to address the gatherings. About 35 civilians were escorted back to their homes. Additional BSF forces were deployed to maintain order and respond to any further incidents.
