EC De-Lists 474 Political Parties Over Norm Violations
- The Election Commission (EC) has de-listed 474 registered unrecognised political parties for violating norms, particularly for not contesting any elections since 2019, marking a total of 808 such parties removed in the last two months.
- Additionally, 359 more parties across 23 States/UTs are under scrutiny for not submitting Annual Audited Accounts for the last three financial years.
- Show-cause notices and hearings will follow before final decisions are made based on reports from Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs).
