The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched new services on WhatsApp, allowing employees to view their Provident Fund (PF) balance, passbook details and the last 5 transactions. This was announced by Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya during the EPFO’s 74 th Foundation Day celebration on November 1, 2026. It will help make it easier for over 80 million subscribers to perform everyday tasks related to their provident fund. Other facilities include automatic closure of eligible inoperative EPF accounts with a balance of up to Rs 1,000.
EPFO WhatsApp Services
This service will allow EPF members to view basic details about their account.
This includes,
- View your PF Balance
- View Passbook Details
- View Last 5 Transactions
- Receive support with completing PMVBRY requirements.
- This means key information about your account can be viewed with ease.
How to use EPFO Services on WhatsApp
While EPFO stated it is a verified WhatsApp account, no further details were provided by the Labour Ministry during the announcement on November 1.
We advise members to visit the EPFO official website and use official communication channels to find the official number.
Don’t provide your UAN password, OTPs, banking details or any other personal information to anyone who isn’t verified.
At this stage, there doesn’t appear to be an option to initiate PF withdrawals or transfers; this service is just for account details and PMVBRY support.
EPFO Will Automatically Close Inoperative Accounts Up To Rs 1,000
EPFO have also announced a new automatic closure system for eligible inoperative Employees’ Provident Fund accounts.
Employees who have an inoperative EPF account with a balance of up to Rs 1,000 will no longer need to make a claim for these funds.
EPFO will automatically close your account once it has performed the necessary verification process to confirm your identity and bank account. Your funds will then be paid to the correct recipients.
Approximately 1 lakh accounts worth Rs 5 crore will be helped by this scheme, according to the Labour Ministry.
This will help ex-employees and eligible members reclaim small amounts of their provident fund that may have been left in their old account.
EPFO Has Accumulated Rs 32 Trillion Retirement Corpus
Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya spoke about how EPFO has grown during its 74th Foundation Day celebration.
He mentioned that the organisation has accumulated around Rs 32 trillion in retirement funds from over 80 million members.
He also encouraged EPFO officials to create employee-focused innovations and improve service during their 75 th year.
The new WhatsApp service and automatic closure scheme are part of EPFO’s commitment to making services easier to access online.
