ICC Launches Inaugural Women’s T20I Challenge Trophy 2026 in Rwanda

International Cricket Council (ICC) has take the major step to transform the women’s cricket it has launched the Inaugural Women’s T20I Challenge Trophy 2026 in the Rwanada. This will be starting from the April 18 in Kigali in the Rwanda. This is the five nation tournament which brings together the emerging cricket nations and will aims to provide valuable international exposure and competitiveness.

Tournament Format and Participating Teams

The competition will feature the Rwanda, Italy, Nepal, USA and Vanuatu which are representing the different ICC regions.

This matches will be played at the Gahanga Cricket Stadium.

The tournament follows the double round-robin format which means that each team will play against the every other team twice.

It will run until the May 2, 2026 which will ensures the strong competitive platform for all participants.

Opening Matches and Schedule

The tournament kicks off with the exciting clashes with the,

  • Rwanda vs Italy (Opening match)
  • Nepal vs USA (Same day fixture)

Vanuatu will begin their campaign on April 19th against Host nation Rwanda.
