The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, the tournamnet will take place from October 2 to November 21, 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Total 14 teams willl participate the in the tournamne tand will comptete in the 57 57 matches in 12 venues using a new three-tier tournament structure prior to the semi-finals. The tournament starts off with a three-team Super Series in Windhoek, while the Group Stage will begin on October 7 when India and defending champions Australia clash in Cape Town.

In the Group stage, total 12 teams will be divided into two different groups such as Group A and B, and each group will have six teams and they will play each other in five matches.
India’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 Schedule
India has been placed in the Group A and also pre-seeded as the A1 for the Super 7 stage. India will also start tier campaign against the defending champions Australia in Cape Town on October 7th, 2027.

Format for ICC World Cup 2027 Qualification
There will be 14 teams in the World Cup 2027. South Africa and Zimbabwe have qualified automatically as hosts while eight teams have qualified automatically based on the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings cut-off as of September 30, 2026.
The remaining four places will be allocated via the Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The top ranked team in the Qualifier will qualify directly to the Group Stage while the remaining three teams will qualify to the Super Series.
Super Series: October 2-6
The tournament officially begins with a three-team Super Series in Windhoek, Namibia.
The second-, third- and fourth-placed teams from the Cricket World Cup Qualifier will play each other once.

The team which finish first in this round will get the last and final spot for the Group stage of World Cup 2027.
New Super 7 Format in the 2027 Cricket World Cup
In 2027, there is a new Super 7 format in the Cricket World Cup.
Following the Group Stage, the best three teams from both groups will qualify, along with the best fourth-placed team in either group, thus creating seven teams to move on.
Unlike some formats where the points carry forward, there will be no carrying of any Group Stage points into the Super 7 stage. Each team will play six games in this stage between October 25 and November 14.
The top four teams in the Super 7 standings will proceed to the semi-finals as follows,
- 1st vs 4th
- 2nd vs 3rd
The winning teams will face each other in the final in Johannesburg.
Super 7 Pre-Seeding
To provide greater clarity around the potential fixtures and venues, the ICC has also pre-seeded the several positions which are mentioned below.

This seeding does not guarantee that these teams will feature directly in to the Super 7 round. If another teams qualifies and pre-seeded team does not, the qualifying team will take that place in the corresponding position.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 Semi-Final and Final
Top four Super 7 teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
First semi-final will be played on November 17 in Cape Town and second semi-final will be played on November 18 in Tshwane. Both the semi-finals will have reserve days.
Final of World Cup will take place on November 21 in Johannesburg, and November 22 will be the reserve day.

Venue list of ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will cover twelve venues across three host nations. Matches in Namibia will be played in Windhoek, Zimbabwe will host games in Victoria Falls, Harare and Bulawayo whereas South Africa will have eight venues.
