- APEDA has been participating in BIOFACH for more than a decade.
- However, the 2026 edition marks a significant scale-up, reflecting the rapid growth of India’s organic exports and rising global demand for Indian organic products.
India Country Pavilion: Scale and Key Highlights
- The India Country Pavilion at BIOFACH 2026 will cover a massive 1,074 square metres, making it one of the largest national pavilions at the event.
- The pavilion will host 67 co-exhibitors, including exporters, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), cooperatives, organic laboratories, state government bodies, and commodity boards.
- This large presence demonstrates India’s institutional strength and coordinated approach in promoting organic agriculture globally.
Organic Products Showcased by India
- India’s pavilion will showcase a diverse range of organic agricultural and value-added products.
- These include organic rice, oilseeds, pulses, herbs, spices, cashew, ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, cinnamon, mango puree, and essential oils.
- The display highlights India’s ability to supply both raw organic produce and processed organic foods, strengthening its image as a complete organic value-chain partner.
Participation from Over 20 States and UTs
- More than 20 States and Union Territories are participating in BIOFACH 2026, reflecting India’s vast agricultural diversity. States such as Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and West Bengal are part of the India Pavilion.
- This participation highlights region-specific organic specialities and shows how organic farming is expanding across India year after year.
GI-Tagged Rice and Live Food Experiences
- A major attraction at the India Pavilion will be curated food tastings. Visitors will experience live sampling of aromatic biryani made from premium organic basmati rice and spices.
- India will also showcase five GI-tagged rice varieties Indrayani rice, Navara rice, Gobindbhog rice, Red rice, and Chak Hao (Black rice). These heritage varieties underline India’s deep-rooted agricultural traditions and biodiversity.
